Stress on your health
By Cliff Etienne
Almost everyone experiences stress from time to time. While a small amount of stress can motivate us, too much or prolonged stress can be damaging to both our physical and mental health.
There are many things in life that can cause stress, including: work, relationships, family issues, and financial problems. For some people, stress causes them to adopt unhealthy coping methods such as smoking or drinking. Most people consider these coping methods a quick fix. When in reality, these habits are harming your health and ultimately the stress itself still isn’t being addressed.
At Nevada State Behavioral Health Services, we strive every day to assist individuals with stress. Not only to cope with stress but also to identify the symptoms of stress and learning healthy mental health coping skills.
